Kabir Singh director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has hit back at actor Adil Hussain following the latter's public criticism of the movie. Vanga took to social media to slam Hussain after he expressed regret over acting the blockbuster movie.

Adil Hussain, who played the Dean of the college in Kabir Singh stated in a YouTube podcast that he wasn't aware of the film's content when he agreed to the role. He called the movie "misogynistic" and said it "legitimizes violence against anybody."

Responding to Hussain's comments, Vanga wrote on 'X' (formerly Twitter), "Ur 'belief' in 30 art films didn't get as much fame to u as ur 'regret' of 1 BLOCKBUSTER film did." He went on to say that he regretted casting Hussain, accusing the actor of being more driven by "greed" than "passion."

Vanga further threatened to replace Hussain's face in the film using AI technology, telling the actor to "smile properly" now.

Here's the tweet:

Hussain had revealed that he had tried to back out of the film by demanding a high fee, but the makers agreed to pay him, leaving him no choice but to do the part. He said he had liked the scene he did, but was left "embarrassed" after watching the final movie.

Released in 2019,Kabir Singh went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year and Shahid Kapoor's career-defining film. Vanga returned to the big screen last year with the movie Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor.
