October 3 School Holiday or not?

With the new week kicking in, parents and students are eagerly waiting to find out if schools will be open or closed on Monday, November 3, 2025. Most states will reopen their schools to regular classes, but one district in Uttar Pradesh has declared a school holiday for a few days in view of a mega local event.

In the last two weeks alone, schools across India have been shut on several occasions: from Diwali celebrations to precautionary closure following Cyclone Montha warnings in southern states including Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Odisha. So far, with the cyclone now moving away, most areas are expected to return to normal operations.

State-wise School Holiday Status:

Andhra Pradesh: Schools are likely to function as usual on November 3, but the IMD has forecast the possibility of rains and thunderstorms in some districts. Schoolswould be declared closed temporarily depending on the weather conditions.
Uttar Pradesh: All schools in Anupshahr will remain closed from November 3 to 6 due to the Kartik Purnima Ganga Snan Mela. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the students, teachers, and parents visiting the mela remain safe.

Tamil Nadu and Odisha - Schools in the above two states are likely to reopen on November 3 as no heavy rain alerts have been issued by the IMD.
