November 7 School Holiday or not?

 - Sakshi Post

As India moves past the festive season and the Bihar elections, schools across the country are now returning to normal schedules. After a series of regional holidays, weather-related closures, and local events, many students and parents are wondering — are schools open on November 6? Here’s a complete state-wise update.

Uttar Pradesh (Anupshahr, Bulandshahr District)

Schools in Anupshahr will reopen on November 7, marking the end of the four-day holiday declared from November 3 to 6 for the Lakkhi Kartik Purnima Ganga Snan Mela. The Bulandshahr Education Officer confirmed that all schools will function normally from Friday.

Bihar

Schools in Bihar are also reopening on November 7, as the first phase of the assembly elections concludes on November 6. However, institutions will close again briefly on November 11 for the second phase of polling. Until then, schools will operate as usual.

Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu & Odisha

In states recently affected by Cyclone Montha, most schools and colleges have resumed regular classes. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued rainfall and thunderstorms across parts of the southern and northeastern regions, but no district-level closures have been announced for November 7.

IMD has also issued a lightning and gusty winds alert (30–40 kmph) for Telangana during November 6–7. However, unless there is a sudden change in weather conditions, schools are expected to remain open.

Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR & Northern States

After the Guru Nanak Jayanti holiday on November 5, schools in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad have reopened. Regular classes will continue on November 7 across both private and government institutions.

Parents Advised to Follow School Alerts

While most schools across India will be open on Friday, November 7, parents are advised to stay connected through official school WhatsApp groups or local education department announcements. During unpredictable weather conditions, especially in southern India, last-minute updates about holidays or schedule changes are usually shared online at night.
