CAT 2025 Exam Date Announced: November 30 Across 170 Cities
The Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, has declared that the Common Admission Test, CAT 2025, will take place on November 30, 2025, across about 170 cities in India. The elite national-level entrance test is a gateway to MBA and other management programs offered at the IIMs and several top business schools within the country.
As per the latest notification issued on the official website iimcat.ac.in, the download of CAT 2025 admit cards will begin on November 12, 2025, and will continue till November 30, 2025. Earlier, it was supposed to be released on November 5, but the date has been revised now. Candidates are advised to go through the admit card properly for details related to the exam shift timings and reporting timings for a hassle-free test day.
Exam Schedule and Format
CAT 2025 will be conducted in three separate sessions - forenoon, afternoon, and evening - on the same day. The exam will be a computer-based test (CBT) that will be conducted for a period of two hours for each session. Each shift will follow the same structure and question pattern.

Exam Shifts:
- Shift 1 (Forenoon): 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM
- Shift 2 (Afternoon): 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM
- Shift 3 (Evening): 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM
The candidates should strictly adhere to the reporting schedule: 7:00 AM for Shift 1, 11:00 AM for Shift 2, and 3:00 PM for Shift 3. Entry gates will be closed 15 minutes before the commencement of a session.
Exam Structure
There will be three key sections in the CAT 2025 paper:
- Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
- Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)
- Quantitative Ability (QA)
Each section measures the candidate's analytical, reasoning, and comprehension abilities and is considered as one of the most competitive and grueling entrance tests in the country.
