Nissan Tekton SUV, Creta Rival, Set To Enter India in 2026

 - Sakshi Post

After the successful launch of the Magnite, Nissan had been relatively quiet in the Indian market, apart from the CBU introduction of the X-Trail — which felt more like a stop-gap attempt than a full-fledged comeback. Now, the brand is making a stronger move with the debut of its all-new Nissan Tekton, a C-segment SUV that will sit above the Magnite in the company’s portfolio. The Tekton will officially go on sale in India by Q2 2026.

At present, Nissan has only revealed the design highlights of the Tekton, keeping the powertrain details and variant lineup under wraps. However, industry expectations suggest it could arrive with multiple engine options, including naturally aspirated petrol, turbo-petrol, and hybrid powertrains. Positioned above the Magnite, the Tekton is set to rival popular mid-size SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, and others.

Inspired by the Flagship Patrol SUV

In terms of styling, the Nissan Tekton borrows heavily from the brand’s global flagship, the Nissan Patrol. It features a flat, upright bonnet with a bold front fascia, accentuated by a sleek horizontal LED light bar connecting the headlamps. The bumper sports a muscular design, while the ‘TEKTON’ lettering on the bonnet adds a premium SUV appeal, similar to Land Rover models.

From the side, the SUV carries flared wheel arches for a muscular stance, coupled with an upright profile. The rear door handles are mounted on the pillar rather than the traditional placement, giving the SUV a distinct look. At the rear, bold styling continues with Patrol-inspired taillamps and a cohesive design that aligns with Nissan’s global SUV family.

Interior Still Under Wraps

While Nissan hasn’t showcased the cabin yet, the Tekton is expected to follow a minimalistic yet modern interior theme, likely featuring advanced connectivity, premium materials, and a tech-loaded dashboard.

With the Tekton, Nissan is clearly aiming to strengthen its position in India’s competitive SUV market. More details regarding engine options, features, and pricing are expected closer to its launch.
