YSRCP Gears Up for Statewide Agitation Over Medical College Privatisation

YSRCP State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy conducted a teleconference with regional coordinators, district presidents, parliamentary constituency observers, state secretaries, MLAs, and constituency in-charges, directing them to intensify the campaign against the coalition government’s move to privatise government medical colleges.

He announced that district-level poster releases opposing medical college privatisation will take place tomorrow, followed by constituency-level events the next day and mandal-level programmes thereafter. After each poster release, leaders are instructed to hold press meets and clearly explain the party’s stand to the media.

Expressing satisfaction over the “One-Crore Signatures – Rachabanda” public outreach campaign, Sajjala said citizens have strongly endorsed YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s commitment to safeguarding public healthcare and medical education. “This movement will continue until the government withdraws its privatisation plans,” he asserted, urging all democratic forces, allied parties, community organisations, and civil society groups to join the cause. A review on the signature collection drive will be held next week.

Reiterating the need for organisational preparedness, Sajjala directed leaders to complete party committees at every level within the stipulated timeframe and ensure adherence to central office guidelines. He said that data digitalisation and member profiling must be carried out rigorously using the newly developed software. Leaders were told to treat this as an intensive organisational drive, appoint observers wherever necessary, and expedite committee formation.

He further stressed the importance of digital mobilisation to expand public outreach: “Every programme must reach people widely through social and digital platforms. Coordinate closely with digital teams and strengthen booth-level vigilance during the Special Electoral Roll Revision. Prepare booth agents and remain alert,” he advised.

Sajjala concluded by stating that the party must be fully battle-ready ahead of local body elections. “We are raising our voice on behalf of the people. Every leader must work with dedication, not mere formality,” he said, reiterating YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s directive that committees should not only be formed but also remain active, responsive, and committed.
