Chaos at Nara Lokesh’s Shankaravam in Anantapur

 - Sakshi Post

Anantapur: Poor turnout at the previous Shankaravam rallies has already dealt a major blow to the political prospects of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national general secretary Nara Lokesh and now the infighting over the ticket allocation and discontent among the party’s rank and file is also testing the leadership qualities of the TDP scion.

Internal bickering is continuing in the Anantapur unit of TDP even as Lokesh is continuing his Shankaravam programme in the district. The leaders from both the TDP and Jana Sena camps are not happy with the leadership over the Anantapur Urban assembly seat allocation.

As Lokesh was addressing the people as part of his Shankaravam programme, the supporters from both the parties, who were sitting among the audience, started arguing over the MLA seat and it soon escalated into a fist fight. Lokesh tried his best to stop both the groups from fighting in open but in vain. Many people were disappointed with the chaos during the party’s public meeting.

As per reports, Prabhakar Chaudhary is hoping to contest the election on a TDP ticket from Anantapur Urban assembly constituency. On the other hand, TC Varun of Jana Sena is vying for the party ticket. The TDP and Jana Sena leaderships have been urging the supporters to work together but the party cadres are openly defying the high command.
