Andhra Pradesh: Cyclone Averted, But Rains in AP to Continue

The cyclone threat to Andhra Pradesh was averted due to uncooperative conditions in the Bay of Bengal. However, heavy rains, strong winds will continue to have an effect on certain districts across the state. 
The low pressure area in the northern Andaman Sea is currently 5.8 km above sea level. Continuing at altitude, tt is expected to travel west-northwest and strengthen into an air bubble in the southeastern Bay of Bengal within 36 hours.

It will then approach the southern Andhra Pradesh-Tamil Nadu coast over the southwestern Bay of Bengal by November 18, intensifying into a severe cyclone. 

Meteorological department officials have said it was likely to become a severe cyclone or weaken into a blizzard without turning into a hurricane. The state is expected to receive moderate to heavy rains from Tuesday.
