Chikkamagaluru Priest Drives Away Entire Village With Death Threat  

Chikkamangaluru: Fearing  death, people of Bale emptied the village and fled to another place after a priest scared them that they would fall prey to death if they continued to stay in the village.

It is reported that the priest requested the people to leave the village as someone had performed Blackmagic on the people in the village and even the deity they worship is unhappy with the happenings. This statement of the priest scared the villagers and some of them already left the place. Leaving their hometown is not easy for any of the villagers as they have to shift everything and find a new place to settle.

Ignoring the words of the priest, some villagers continued to stay in the village. Within no time, they too packed their things after two people from the village died under mysterious circumstances in a month. Over 23 families have left the place till now.

It is also learnt that people vacated Bale when the officials were about to allot residential plots to them. Though the gram panchayat requested the villagers to stay back for the plots, they did not pay attention to them and left the place fearing  death. However, officials who spoke to a leading daily said that villagers who do not have any superstitious beliefs are still residing in the village.
