Movie Review: Gunturodu
After being away from the arc lights for a while, Manchu Manoj is back in the spotlight with the action flick - Gunturodu. After experimenting with various roles since the beginning of his career, the actor has stuck to a standard masala formula for Gunturodu.
The Story
Kanna (Manchu Manoj) is the only son of Suryanarayana (Rajendra Prasad). Being the only son, he gets pampered and often gets into fights with all and sundry. In order to bring him on track, Suryanarayana plans Kanna's wedding. However, Kanna falls for the bride's friend Amrita (Pragya Jaiswal).
In a twist to the story, Kanna is also involved in a fight with a criminal lawyer Seshu (Sampath). The latter targets Suryanarayana in order to take revenge on Kanna. How Kanna saves his father, resolves the fight with Seshu and marries Amrita forms the rest of the story.
Plus Points
Manoj acting
Well choreographed fight scenes
Production values
Minus Points
Routine storyline
Disappointing climax scenes
Verdict
A routine mass film with intense action and dialogues in the first half of the story. The movie loses steam post interval and drags. Must watch for Manchu fans.
