Metro Trains Collide After Coming On Same Track During Trial Run

Metro train collision in Delhi - Sakshi Post

New Delhi: A new metro line in Delhi that was seen as a harbinger of things to come by plying driverless trains faced an embarrassing situation when two trains came on a same track during a trial run on Friday.

Though no one was injured in the incident an investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of this disruption.

The 'Magenta Line' will reportedly be the first circuit on the Delhi Metro where the new ‘driverless’ trains will operate.

The line which is to be opened for the public in phases and be fully operational by the mid of 2017 will connect 25 stations between Janakpuri West and Botanical Garden.

It was only a few days ago that the Metro authorities had extended the trial runs on this line by 13.5 km, between Botanical garden and Kalkaji Temple.
