Bus Falls Into Gorge, 16 Dead, 25 Hurt

In a ghastly road mishap, a bus belonging to a private transport operator, fell into a gorge near Bindravani in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh killing as many as 16 persons and leaving 25 persons injured.

Most deaths are instantaneous. The condition of some of the injured persons is stated to be critical. There were 41 persons at the time of the accident.

The ill-fated bus was going from Mandi to Kulu valley and as it reached a road bend near Bindravani, the driver lost control of the steering and the bus fell into the gorge.

The police and other rescue teams have rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to the nearest hospital.
