Lindsay Lohan Backs Disgraced Producer, Gets Panned

Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, accused of sexual assault and inappropriate behavior by multiple women, got support from an unexpected source--actress Linday Lohan. The actress took to Instagram on Wednesday saying that Weinstein, 65, deserves a break and that he was never inappropriate with her. However, Lohan was panned by several others for her defence of the disgraced film producer, though her father clarifying that he was not defending Weinstein, said that Lohan was only expressing her point of view.

Among those who have accused Weinstein of inappropriate behaviour are, Gwyneth Paltrow, the Shakespeare in Love actress, who called him a coercer. Incidentally, the heavyweight Hollywood producer won an Academy Award for the film. Angelina Jolie and Ashley Judd have also come out with similar accusations against Weinstein. All the women who have now come out into the open with such charges against the ousted producer, have received widespread support in Hollywood.

It appears that Weinstein has a bleak future ahead. Facing numerous charges of sexual assault and inappropriate behaviour, he could be in for a long prison haul of two to three decades. Till the company's board of directors fired him in October 2017, Weinstein and his brother, Bob, were the co-chairmen of The Weinstein Company. Entertainment industry experts say that the company could face tough times ahead with victim lawsuits and investor claims.
