If TDP Wins 25 MP Seats In Next Elections, We Will Get SCS: Chandrababu

Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu - Sakshi Post

Amaravati: For people of Andhra Pradesh, there seems to be no sign of hope from Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. It’s a known fact that YSRCP leaders have been extending an olive branch to Chandrababu asking his party to join hands to strengthen the fight for Special Category Status to AP. However, looks like Babu is in no mood to budge. On Saturday, he was back with a new drama! Speaking at the Ambedkar Birth Anniversary Celebrations here, the AP CM said that if TDP wins 25 MP seats in next elections, the state could easily achieve Special Category Status (SCS). He went on to say that after next elections, TDP would play a crucial role in central government formation. "The government will be formed only by the party which TDP supports. So we will be able to also achieve SCS to our state," he said.

It also appears that he wants to follow in the footsteps of Prime Minister Narendra Modi although he claims to have snapped ties with BJP. Chandrababu said he would also go on a day’s hunger strike over the Budget sessions' washout. The TDP chief expressed his surprise over Modi taking up one day hunger strike saying ,"The person who was instrumental in preventing the Parliament from functioning took up fast. This is surprising. In protest against the central government's attitude, I will take up one day hunger strike on April 20," he said and called upon people to support his protest.

Talking about Ambedkar, Chandrababu said, "The Constitution that was written by Ambedkar is good, but the people who are implementing it are not. As a result, the Constitution is also being questioned." On the occasion, the AP CM promised to install a 125-feet statue of BR Ambedkar in Amaravati, start country wide protests against the dilution of SC and ST Act, and increase the standard of living of Dalits in the state.
