Sarkar is on a roll. This winning horse from the AR Murugados stable is minting gold at the box office. In just two days of its release, the film has collected a whopping 100 crores from theatres worldwide.

Now, we hear the telugu version of the film too has done brisk business at the ticket window in the two Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. According to the buzz doing the rounds on social media, Sarkar has got career best opening for Vijay and the makers have already recovered 70% in just two days.

Sarkar revolves around the life of an NRI who comes down to India to exercise his voting rights. However, much to his shock, he finds that someone else has already done that under his name. That's when he decides to set things right in his motherland. Vijay's performance has come in for a lot of praise from the audience and critics alike. However, political parties are crying foul over its content calling a few scenes highly objectionable.


Sarkar features Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Keerthy Suresh as female leads. The Mozart of Madras, AR Rahman has rendered the music for the film. Kalanithi Maran has bankrolled the film.
