Yadadri Gangrape Victim Known To Assailants?

Yadadri Bhuvanagiri: Police have confirmed the rape and murder of a woman earlier reported from Venkatapur village in Turkapalli mandal at Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district on Thursday.
According to the Rachakonda Police the woman was raped and murdered by unidentified assailants. They robbed Rs 50,000 cash from her house and stole eight Tolas of gold, before fleeing the place.
The victim (46) a widow was staying alone in the village and was running a a belt shop in the village. The locals told the police that she was seen talking to her neighbours at around 10 in the night on Tuesday. They got suspicious when they saw both the front and back doors locked from outside, but the fan was still on. Sensing something wrong, they jumped over the wall to check. When they peeped into the window, they saw the victim lying naked and bleeding from the neck. They immediately alerted the local police.
The CLUES team was called to check for any evidence left behind at her residence and the body sent for post mortem. Reports say that the victim's throat was slit after she was raped.
Apart from a few mats on the floor, they also found a few condom packets. Sniffer dogs were called in and the trail led them to a fertiliser factory in Venkatapur , but stopped there. The victim's relatives filed a complaint and the police registered a case. The police are examining whether the crime was committed by persons known to the victim as there was no forced entry into the house.
Rachakonda Crime Additional DCP Srinivas , ACP Manohar Reddy, CI Anjaneyulu, DCP Narayana Reddy and SI Venkatayya came to the scene of crime and oversaw the investigation process.
