Ex Live-In Partner Blackmails Girl With Private Photos For Money

Hyderabad: A blackmailing case was cracked by the Cyberabad cyber crime investigators by tracing the IP address through which threatening emails were received by the Victim. The IP Address was traced and the blackmailer was nabbed at Nampally Railway Station on Saturday.

The cyber crime police got a complaint from a girl stating that she had been receiving emails from an unknown person containing her personal photos and videos. The blackmailer had threatened to upload the pictures and videos on social media after the victim stopped replying to his emails asking her for Rs 4 lakh.

Ch Ramiah, inspector, cybercrime, Cyberabad said, “We traced the IP address and nabbed the accused, Devandla Tharaka Krishna Chaitanya near Nampally Railway Station. When questioned the accused revealed that the victim was his colleague in the past while he used to work in a private company. They were in a live-in relationship for some time. When she rejected his marriage proposal, he developed a grudge against her.”

The parents of the accused had fixed his marriage to another girl, and that was supposed to take place on February 10. Due to a financial crunch, Chaitanya hatched a plan to extract some money from the victim, who was a colleague in the past. They were in a live-in relationship, and when she was proposed marriage, she refused, and so he developed a grudge against her.
