Realtor Father-In-law Got Miryalaguda Boy Killed Because He Was SC

The brutal murder of an SC youth Perumalla Pranay (24) in broad daylight, while he was walking along with his wife here yesterday, shook the town and the entire district itself. It is learnt that the youth and married a girl from another caste.

The girl’s parents had from the very beginning resented the alliance. Her realtor father, Maruthi Rao, had in fact, threatened the boy on several occasions earlier, to wean him away from the relationship, it is learnt. Maruthi Rao, a businessman from the Vysya community, could not come to terms with the fact that his daughter, Amrutha, had married a young man Pranay, from the SC community. Police feel that it was out of this sense of anger that Maruthi Rao sought to take revenge on Pranay. The couple who got married six months ago what returning from a visit to a gynaecologist at the local Jyothi Hospital.

It is pertinent to note that Amruta is pregnant. Pranay, Who completed his BTech, married Amrita on January 31, earlier this year in a wedding as per Arya Samaj customs. Maruthi Rao, the girl’s businessman-father strongly opposed the marriage. After getting married, they began to live in Pranay’ house. The couple had approached the district SP seeking protection in view of the situation they were in.

When a reception was arranged for Pranay and Amrutha about a month ago, her parents did not turn up at the function. It is learnt that Amrutha’s father developed greater hostility and vengefulness after the reception. Police suspect that Maruthi Rao hired killers to eliminate Pranay. Owing to Amrutha’s pregnancy, she came to the gynaecologist at Jyothi hospital for a check up scheduled for 12 noon. She was accompanied by Pranay. As they were walking after the check up, around 130 and unknown attacker struck Pranay on the neck from behind using a long butchers knife. After he hit him again Pranay died on the spot in a pool of blood.

Meanwhile, the superintendent of police of the district A. V. Ranganath accompanied by other officials visited the scene of crime. A dog squad has been pressed into action to trace the killer. The police are also relying on CCTV surveillance footage in investigating the matter. An intensive manhunt has been launched to nab the accused, Maruthi Rao and the girl’s uncle, Shravan.
