Choreographer Held For Raping Kolkata Student

Hyderabad: A choreographer was arrested on Saturday for allegedly raping 19-year-old girl, who has come to visit the city from Kolkata.

According to police the victim had come here as a tourist on February 14. She shared a cab with a female co-passenger Pinky Roy to reach Hotel Park. During the ride, the victim told Pinky how she was planning to go around the city. Later, Pinky convinced her to visit tourist hotspots with her and a friend Preeth Shergill, who has a car.

On February 15, Pinky called up shergill, a choreographer-cum-event manager saying that she was in a hotel with the girl. Shergill soon arrived in a Honda city car and picked up the duo. After travelling for some distance, Preeth made a gesture and Pinky disembarked claiming she needed to attend to an emergency. Pinky left the place leaving the two in the car.

Later, Shergill told Pinky that he needs to rush home immediately in Marredpally and they could visit places later. After reaching home, he offered coffee to the victim. Within a few minutes, she started feeling drowsy and fell down unconcious. He then raped her and confined her in a room. He snatched her wallet, which had Rs 7,000 cash and two gold rings. Very next day, Shergill's driver Sultan, who visited his house also raped her and took nude videos of the victim.

After torturing her for some days, the accused told her to return Kolkata. The victim who left to Kolkata lodged a complaint with Hyderabad police. The complaint was sent on mail. Police registered a case and arrested the choreographer.

Police are looking for the other man who raped her and also the woman who introduced her to Shergill.
