Chandrababu Licking His Wounds After TDP’s Humiliating Defeat

Chandrababu Naidu - Sakshi Post

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu's arrogance bit the dust on April 11 as the results on Thursday revealed. YSR Congress Party led by its young powerhouse YS Jagan Mohan Reddy steamrolled Chandrababu's TDP out of contention and stormed to an unprecedented victory, scripting history in Andhra Pradesh. Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena went off the political radar completely. The tsunami unleashed by YSRCP's Fan acrcoss Andhra Pradesh seems to have silenced TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh. Chandrababu, who projected himself as a national leader bringing opposition parties together to forge an anti-modi front failed miserably both in his home state as well as the national stage. NDA surged ahead registering leads in well over 300 Lok Sabha constituencies.

In Andhra Pradesh, YSRCP swatted the TDP out of reckoning with leads in well over 150 seats. Where does Chandrababu go from here? The TDP chief after sending his resignation to governor ESL Narasimhan, addressed a press conference in which he congratulated new AP chief minister designate YS Jagan, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he BJP. Howeverf, he looked crestfallen as he conceded defeat in a sullen mood. It does appear that Chandrababu Naidu is fading into oblivilion and this may well be his political waterloo.
