Bye Bye Babu seems to the refrain across Andhra Pradesh as voters bid farewell to Chandrababu in huge numbers on April 11. In Assembly seat after Assembly seat across the state, YSRCP emerged stronger and taller led by its president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy from the front.

YS Jagan has worked relentlessly for his victory over a period of ten long years. A vindictive congress implicated him in false cases and even sent him to prison in collusion with the TDP. Worse, in the most unconstitutional manner, he was even denied bail during this time.

YS Jagan highlighted the failures of TDP governance, the massive scams which surrounded Amaravati, Polavaram, sand mining mafias and a range of other issues down to the villages of the state. His 14-month-long padayatra from November 2017 to January 2019 endeared YS Jagan to the people of Andhra Pradesh. Braving scorching sun and rain, he travelled through the streets, villages, towns and cities through the state gaining an insight into the suffering of the common man. As YS Jagan saw for himself, people were vexed with the corruption of TDP leaders down to the village level Janma Bhoomi Committee members and were determined to teach Chandrababu Naidu a lesson at election time. On April 11, the people of the state delivered their verdict, saying Bye Bye Babu.
