Hyderabad: In connection with the alleged inclusion of bogus voters in the Andhra Pradesh electoral rolls, the Hyderabad High Court will hear the proceedings on the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by former MLA Venkatrami Reddy.

Stating that certain voters were deliberately excluded in the electoral rolls, it was mentioned that over 52 lakh bogus voters were found across 32,574 polling booths, in the PIL. While over 34 lakh voters had been repeated in various places, the PIL said over 18 lakh voters had voting rights both in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The PIL further mentioned that out of the 17 lakh voters removed from the 2014 electoral roll, at least one lakh voters were from YSR Kadapa district. The petitioner asked for the implementation of biometric system through Aadhar linkage for voter registration.
