Srikakulam: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu faced the ire of the victims of Cyclone Titli at Kaviti village in the district. Villagers tried to block his convoy in protest against the Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) failure in providing relief measures. Chandrababu, who was touring the district in the wake of the cyclone, was passing by Kaviti, where the locals were desperately waiting for assistance from the officials. Along with the local fishermen, villagers blocked the CM convoy and demanded government action for the loss. "How could Chandrababu ignore our issues after such a cyclone?" they asked.

The villagers cried before Chandrababu that no assistance was received from the government and that they did not have food for three days. Responding to the protest, Chandrababu said that it was not fair to create hurdles to the convoy of a person of the stature of the Chief Minister. "We have taken up all kinds of relief measures to rescue the Titli victims," he said.

Chandrababu announced that he had suspended the development officer who was In-charge of the relief operations in Kaviti Mandal after the locals complained that the officer had not attended to the operations.
