AP Secretariat Flooded With Rain Water Yet Again, Ministers Chambers Damaged

Andhra Pradesh Secretariat - Sakshi Post

Amaravati: For the umpteenth time in the last few years, the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat was flooded with rain water once again, making the building's premises resemble a fresh water pond. Due to the excessive rainfall in the State in the past two days, the chambers of the Ministers have been reportedly damaged with leakage of water from the ceilings. In the context of the flooding of the Secretariat on several occasions in the past, the latest leakages come as an embarassment to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who is already facing a backlash from the people of the State, for failing to deliver on his election promises.

In May this year, Leader of Opposition in AP Assembly, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's chamber suffered damages due to water leakages from the walls and ceilings. On the occasion, massive protests by the YSR Congress leaders forced the Speaker to order an inquiry into the matter. Even though the State government officials took repair measures in the past to prevent the inflow of the rain water, the situation appears to have worsened.

According to reports, the premises of the Secretariat in Velagapudi is expected to continue to flood in the wake of heavy rains. Ceilings in several sections of the 4th and 5th Blocks in the Secretariat are said to have damaged.
