Had TDP MPs Quit, AP Would Have Got SCS: Malladi Vishnu

YSRCP leader Malladi Vishnu speaking at a press conference - Sakshi Post

Vijayawada: YSR Congress Party leader Malladi Vishnu said had TDP MPs quit and sat on an indefinite hunger strike, the ensuing political turmoil would led to Special Category status (SCS) being given to Andhra Pradesh. Speaking to media here today along with YSRCP leader Paila Somi Naidu, he said if TDP was sincere about SCS, they should have been part of the protests that YSRCP was doing.

Malladi called upon all parties to fully support the bandh call given by YSRCP for tomorrow. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu have both jointly cheated the people of AP. It was their party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who has been waging a relentless fight for achieving SCS, he observed.

In protest against the deception by TDP and BJP during no-trust vote, YS Jagan had called for a state-wide bandh tomorrow, the YSRCP leader said. He called on people to support the bandh and make it a success. He said during former Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy's regime the state witnessed a revolution in education. Common men could become engineers and doctors. But now those educated people would get jobs only if the state was accorded SCS, he said. All the political parties, workers' unions and employees' associations should support the call for bandh, he requested.
