JC Calls Communists Thieves, Left Parties Demand Apology

Senior TDP leader and MP JC Diwakar Reddy - Sakshi Post

Vijayawada: Senior TDP leader and MP JC Diwakar Reddy finds himself at the eye of yet another political storm. The TDP MP appears to have a penchant for courting controversies, judging from his latest statement that "Left leaders are thieves."

Addressing a farmers' gathering at Garladinne in Anantapur district, the MP said he had high regard for the Communists till recently. He said he changed his opinion after learning of their corrupt practices. JC also said that he came to know that Left leaders were selling subsidised rice at Rs. 16 per kg.

The TDP MP's remarks clearly did not go down well with Left parties and sympathisers, who hit back at him strongly in Vijayawada today. They criticised JC for his arrogant attitude and termed him as someone with a mental disorder. The Left parties' leaders demanded unconditional apology from JC Diwakar Reddy immediately. Else they will demand his ouster from TDP, Left leaders said.

"There is no bigger thief than JC in the state. He operates four to five buses while taking permit for only one bus. He also has the reputation of grabbing thousands of acres of land," the Left leaders said. They asked JC what he would call TDP chief and AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, after JC calling all the TDP MPs and MLAs as worthless fellows (vedhavalu). They asked the TDP MP to clarify as to where the Left parties indulged in theft. They also warned JC that if he doesn't apologise, they would file a case against him.

It may be recalled here that last month, the controversial TDP MP had invited the wrath of the Dalit community with his controversial comments.
