3 Held For Forcing Woman Raped By Their Friend To Commit Suicide 

Mahabubnagar: Three youths were arrested in Mahabubnagar district on Tuesday on charge of abetment of suicide of a 22-year-old married woman who was raped in August by one of their friends. The accused persons Venkatesh, Ramu and Mastan (all aged around 28) have been arrested and sent to judicial custody.

During the course of investigation, three friends of Swamy were arrested on Tuesday, a police officer attached to Kollapur Police Station said

The victim, who was raped by one Swamy, on August 24 had subsequently committed suicide in the night by setting herself ablaze. Swamy was arrested on August 28, a senior police officer said.

Police had registered a case on charges of rape, abetment of suicide and criminal intimidation in connection with the incident under relevant sections of IPC.
