Woman Charred To Death While Husband Escapes Unhurt After Car Catches Fire

Vishakapatnam: A woman was charred to death while her husband escaped unhurt from their car which caught fire on the move in Vishakapatnam on Thursday.

The deceased Nagamani and her husband Ramana of Vishakapatnam were traveling in their Scorpio car to Vijayawada when the vehicle caught fire and due to short-circuit. The flames erupted from the moving vehicle when they reached Geddapadu near Rayavaram. Seeing the car catching fire Ramana flung out of the car and he was unable to rescue his wife as the blaze engulfed the vehicle in couple of minutes. Nagamani who was in the car was charred to death as her husband was helplessly crying for help.

However, when police inquired Ramana about the accident he gave irrelevant answers. He was not able to clarify why they had started at 3am and what was the cause of file.

Police registered a suspicious death case and are probing the incident. Further details are awaited.
