Woman Arrested For Forcing Daughter Into Prostitution 

Vijayawada: A 14-year-old girl was rescued by Nunna police on Wednesday after her mother and stepfather forced her into prostitution. The police arrested the mother and stepfather.

According to police, Gottam Mani(38) is a resident of UDA colony in Kandrika. She was separated from her husband and married Mallikarjun. Mani has a daughter with her first husband and Mallikarjun was married earlier. The woman forced her daughter to stop studies and was forcing her into prostitution to make money.

Unable to bear the harassment, the girl left home in June. However, Mani lodged a complaint with police that her daughter was missing. The girl had gone to Guduru and married a man Leela Krishna, who is a cab driver. On learning the girl was minor, Krishna has left her at parents home a few days ago.

After her coming back home, the woman and her husband increased pressure on her to do prostitution. The girl again escaped from home and lodged a complaint against her mother and stepfather.

The police registered a case and took the accused into custody.
