Amid speculations on Congress High Command itching moves towards completing the process of bifurcating the State, the Governor ESL Narasimhan, who is on whirlwind tour in national capital from Wednesday, held meetings with top brass leaders of both the government and the party on the first day.

It is also speculated that he would also be appointed to the gubernatorial post in the new state- Seemandhra, if the State is bifurcated. 

He called on Congress president Sonia Gandhi, party State affairs in-charge Digvijaya Singh, Finance minister Chidambaram and Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde. He is scheduled to meet President Pranab Mukharjee in the evening. Governor's meeting the Delhi top leaders attained significance in view of the reports indicating Union Territory status to Hyderabad.

"It was just a courtesy call. Nothing was discussed," the Governor told reporters after meeting Shinde. The Governor reportedly discussed several issues pertaining to Telangana issue and political situation in the state. During his 4-day trip, he is expected to meet the Group of Ministers over the status of Hyderabad and would submit the report on making Hyderabad as joint capital for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for 10 years.
