We have engineering colleges where are students?

Hyderabad, There are only few students who took up  engineering  and pharmacy seats in the state. After the first phase counseling this year, about two lakh seats are vacant in both engineering and pharmacy, nearly 50 engineering colleges face closure. Of these, 13 had no students seek admission and 34 colleges got less than 10 applications from students.

Students who got eligibility in the entrance test are 2,18,893 of these only 1,30,290  took up admission. The dwindling interest in engineering and pharma courses is because a shocking 75 per cent of engineering and pharma graduates from colleges in Andhra Pradesh say that they have not found jobs after they finished their course.
 
The state has 609 private colleges and 34 government engineering colleges in the country that offer about 2,35,000 seats. But many of them don't have the required infrastructure, facilities or good faculty to be able to produce quality engineers.
 
Experts say technical jobs are not shrinking. There is still a growing demand but students who pass-out from their course are unable to get those jobs because they lack both subject and technical knowledge as well as analytical ability, communication and social skills.

Andhra Pradesh Council for Higher Education should take necessary steps to improve the quality by recruiting technically qualified people to teach students and provide required infrastructure,  for their all round development.
