Vishal Suspended From Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council

Chennai: Actor Vishal Krishna has been suspended from Tamil Nadu Film Producers' Council in connection with his remarks over anti-piracy issue.

A statement from the Council said that Vishal had spoken ill about the Producer’s council thereby disrupting the unity and harmony of the committee during an interview to a leading weekly magazine. The producers' association said that it sent a notice to him and his response was not found to be satisfactory.


Following the notice and his subsequent reply, Vishal has been temporarily suspended by the Producers Council. His production house Vishal Film Factory has also been banned. It may be recalled that Vishal, who is also the secretary of Nadigar Sangam, the actors' association, said in an interview that the Tamil Nadu Film Producers' Council had not taken adequate measures to curb piracy and had failed to address the issues related to satellite rights.

Vishal's Kaththi Sandai Postponed

Meanwhile, Vishal's Kaththi Sandai, which was supposed to be released on November 18, has been pushed by a week. It is now expected to be out on November 25. Kaththi Sandai is written and directed by Suraj and produced by S Nandagopal in association with Vishal. Tamannaah Bhatia plays the female lead in the movie and also stars Jagapathi Babu in the villain's role.
