Vijayawada: Five days after she went missing, the police recovered the body of doctor Surya Kumari from Ryves lake at Gandhi Nagar on Saturday.

Around 4pm, the police traced the body after a group of people informed them that the doctor's bike was found near the lake. The body was totally decomposed as it was in the water for 3-4 days. According to the reports, Surya Kumari was posted as a doctor at Vissannapeta Public Health Centre at Telladevarapalli village. Her sister Hepsiba Rani is an IAS officer in Karnataka.

The police arrested TDP's ex-MLA Bobbili Jayaraj's son earlier this week, after a complaint was filed by the deceased's parents. Suryakumari's mother Mariamma alleged that Jayaraju's son Vidyasagar kidnapped her daughter. Dismissing allegations on her husband, Vidyasagar's wife gave a statement to media. "My husband has no connection with the case. Surya Kumari had visited our house and asked my husband to marry her as she was infatuated with him. When my husband rejected her proposal she committed suicide," she told the media.

The police also found a text message in Surya Kumari's phone stating, "Bobbie (Vidya Sagar's nickname) I loved you so much and despite you saying no, I have been forcing you to marry me. My parents are planning to take me away from this place and might come after you. So be careful."

The message has become crucial as it might direct the police in solving the case. The death mystery will be revealed after the post-mortem report. Surya Kumari's sister IAS officer is also being questioned.
