Two Stuntmen Fall to Death During Climax Shooting

* Two stuntmen die while shooting a jump scene from chopper

* Anil, Uday, who died did not know swimming, did not wear life jackets.

* The bodies are yet to be retrieved.

In a shocking incident, two Kannada actors, Anil and Uday, met a tragic end when they jumped from a helicopter into Tippagondanahalli reservoir, 25 km from Bengaluru, during the shooting of Kannada film Mastigudi.

Both Anil and Uday were playing villains'role in the movie and were shooting the climax of the film. The climax required hero Diniya Vijay, Anil and Uday to jump off from a chopper into a waterbody. The trio jumped into the waters and swam for sometime. Later, both Anil and Uday drowned. Vijay, however, managed to save himself.

Questions are also being raised as to how the shoot was done on the three without mandatory life jackets and other emergency response teams to help out in case of exigency.

The incident happened in the middle of the reservoir and immediate help could not be provided even as the helicopter hovered around helplessly. The bodies are yet to be retrieved. Sources said both Anil and Vijay did not know how to swim. Questions are also being raised as to how the shoot was done on the three without mandatory life jackets and other emergency response teams to help out in case of exigency.

A case has been registered against the shooting unit.
