TRS meeting on Telangana stir begins from Aug 24

In a bid to chalk out strategy on Telangana issue, TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao would be holding a meeting with MLAs and other party leaders later this month. Rao would organise a joint meeting of party's polit bureau, MLAs, district unit presidents and other party functionaries on August 24, 25 and 26, TRS said in a release.

The TRS chief has been maintaining that he was assured by the Central leaders in Delhi on formation of Telangana once the Vice Presidential election (which was held on August 7) is over. If they give Telangana, fine. Otherwise, we will fight the war. There is no debate in this, Rao told. The former Union Minister also indicated yesterday that his party would wait for another four or five days before kicking off the statehood agitation in a big way.
