After 55 Day Strike, KCR’s Sops For RTC Employees, Salaries To Be Paid For Strike Period

HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao held a meeting with the RTC staff, representing all the 97 depots, at Pragathi Bhavan on Sunday. The luncheon meeting proved fruitful for the TSRTC employees who went home smiling after a slew of promises made by the CM, which included payment of salaries during the strike period and also enhancing the retirement age to 60 years.

KCR who had invited five employees, including two women, from each depot to ensure representation of all communities. Around 685 RTC employees were among the attendees of the meeting held at CM's camp office, Pragathi Bhavan on Sunday. They included RTC employees, managers, depot managers, divisional managers, supervisors, conductors, mechanics, executive directors etc participated in the luncheon meeting with the CM

Main highlights from the meeting:

The government enhanced the retirement age of TSRTC employees to 60 years.
He directed RTC officials to pay September salary to the employees on 2nd December
The penalty should be levied on the passenger for not taking a ticket, so far the penalty was levied on the conductor.
He assured to solve all the problems faced by the female employees.
He also ordered officials to provide necessary facilities for female employees in all the bus depots in the state.
He also announced that the bonus would be given to the RTC employees like how the Singareni employees were given if they push RTC into profits.
He promised to pay salaries to the RTC employees for the 52 days strike period.

KCR announced Rs 1 lakh to the RTC employees, who died during the strike and a job for the family member of the deceased worker either in the RTC or in Government services.
