Kalki Bhagwan, Son Booked Under FEMA

HYDERABAD: Self-styled godman Kalki Bhagwan and his son NKV Krishna have been booked under Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) by the Enforcement Directorate for possessing foreign currency.

I-T officials raided the premises and a huge amount of undisclosed currency and precious metals associated with the group were found to the tune of over Rs 500 crore.

ED officials told a leading daily that while during search, foreign currency worth 205 million dollars or Rs 18 crore was seized, which is in violation of FEMA.

In the premises of Varadaiahpalem in Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh, I-T officials seized Rs 43.9 crore.

Officials also seized substantial quantity of jewelleries as well. About 88 kg gold which comes to Rs 26 crore, undisclosed diamonds worth Rs 5 crore, were also seized.
