EVMs Tamperproof: Warangal Officials

EVM - Sakshi Post

Warangal: The electoral Voting Machines (EVMs) are fool-proof and cannot be tampered with. Warangal Urban district collector and district returning officer Prashant J Patil said that people should not believe in rumors that are being spread by people in this regard.

Addressing a press meet on Monday, Patil said, “There are 7,12,063 voters in the Warangal Parliamentary constituency spread over Warangal West, Warangal East and Wardhannapet Assembly constituencies. The number is expected to change as voter enrolment will continue till the last date of filing nominations, March 25. The final figure will be declared after that.”

Patil asked citizens to make use of the cVigil app to bring to the notice of the officials concerned about any irregularities or violations in the poll code. He said, “Since the app is being monitored by officials in Hyderabad and New Delhi, complaints can be filed also against collectors and DEOs for their inaction or negligence.”

Media Certification and Monitoring Committee have been formed to regulate the media. They have also formed a district media certification cell and the district media monitoring cell.

These committees are put in place primarily to keep in touch with media houses and monitor the coverage of the polls, and to put out the necessary information related to the polls.
