Hyderabad Metro - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL), has confirmed that the new route from Ameerpet to Hitec City will be launched soon.

They have been conducting safety tests and trial runs on this 10-km stretch from Ameerpet to Hi-tec city, and the results turned out to be satisfactory. They are planning for an official inspection by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) to begin commercial operations in the coming few weeks.

HMRL Managing Director NVS Reddy along with L&TMRHL Managing Director KVB Reddy conducted a review meeting here on Friday over the progress of various pending works in the upcoming 10-km stretch from Ameerpet to Hitec City. It is learnt that the authorities have even studied the results of other tests, safety parameters and trial runs pertaining to the stretch.

NVS Reddy asked the L&TMRHL to get required safety certification from the French company Thales, which has been providing the Communication Based Train Control technology for Hyderabad Metro. The Metro line, to function also needs certification of the Internal Safety Assessor – Halcrow.

As results turned out to be positive, L&TMRHL engineers were instructed to start working on the required documentation as soon as possible and submit it to the CMRS for his compulsory safety inspection, after which the section will be open for passenger operations. Once all the safety clearances are through, the metro line will start functioning in a matter of a few weeks.
