Exercise Restraint: Hyderabad Commissioner To Public

Hyderabad: Against the backdrop of doctors being attacked by relatives of deceased patients, City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar has asked members of the public not to take law into their hands. There have been some unsavoury incidents in which patients' relatives resorted to assaulting doctors in government as well as private hospitals in the twin cities.

Anjani Kumar pointed out that such behaviour has no place in a civilized society. The Commisioner of City Police reminded the public that a complaint could be lodged with the local police in case of reservations about the treatment provided to the patient. Anjani Kumar also asked the medical fraternity to be compassionate when it came to handling family members of patients.

The Police Commissioner's statement comes in the light of reports of deceased patients' family members attacking doctors in government and private hospitals.
