Telangana protest turns violent in Hyd press club - Sakshi Post


Two constables and several journalists were injured and window panes of the Press Club at Basheerabad in Hyderabad were damaged during the protests by Telangana activists at a book release function on Wednesday.

Tension prevailed at the Basheerbagh press club when Visalandhra Mahasabha, an organisation fighting for united AP held a function for releasing a book "Rjuvululeni Udyamam" (A movement without proofs). Two constables who tried to prevent the T activists were injured, while some scribes too sustained injuries as the broken glasses pierced into their bodies. They were shifted to Appollo Hospital. 

The activists from Osmania University JAC and Telangana advocates JAC reached press club and prevented Visalandhra Mahasabha leader Parakala Prabhakar addressing the function raising slogans. They burnt down the books and damaged window panes of the press club. Earlier, the police took some T activists into custody when they came to protest and shifted them to Saifabad police station. After some time, T activists in huge numbers gained entry into the press club and resorted to violence.
