Telangana Govt Officer Booked In Disproportionate Assets Case

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana on Thursday unearthed assets worth Rs3 crore allegedly belonging to a senior government officer.

Based on credible information, a disproportionate assets case was registered against Yeddla Gangadhar Reddy, Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories here, an ACB release said. Later, searches were conducted at his house and at residences of his relatives.

During the searches, it was revealed Reddy possessed Rs3 crore of assets, which were disproportionate to his known sources of income. The assets included agricultural land, houses and house plots at various places in his name and those of his family members, the anti-graft agency said.

The ACB officials also found Rs6.15 lakh in cash, fixed deposits of Rs17.25 lakh, investments in chit funds worth Rs17.32 lakh, bank balance of Rs5.57 lakhs and household articles worth about Rs10 lakh, among others.

The document value of these properties was about Rs3 crore, while their market value stood at approximately Rs12 crore.
