Students’ Union Blames UoH For Rising Suicide Instances On Campus

Hyderabad: Highlighting the increasing instances of suicides in the campus, the Ambedkar Students Association (ASA) called it an institutional failure of the University of Hyderabad (UoH) to take measures and prevent such incidents.
The representation comes in the wake of Moses Abraham, a PhD scholar attempted suicide on November 18 by slitting his wrist in the classroom. It also states that before Moses, another student named M Venkatesh committed suicide who was also from the same department - Advanced Centre for Research in High Energy Materials
A representation was submitted in this regard to the officials of UoH, on Monday, by the ASA.

“The non-reactionary behaviour of administration towards such repeated incidents are causing threat to life and research of the marginalised communities in the varsity," the representation read.
