Sindhu, Saina crash out in first round of Malaysia Open 

Days after clinching the India Open Series title, P. V Sindhu lost in the first round of the Malaysia Open against world No. 13 Chen Yufei 21-18, 19-21, 17-21. This was only the second loss in 14 matches this year for the Olympic silver medallist.

Saina Nehwal too suffered a first-round exit, losing 21-19, 13-21, 15-21 to world No. 2 Akane Yamaguchi.
