Sharafat Was Killed by Girlfriend’s Ex-Boyfriend: Police

Hyderabad: Miyapur police unraveled the mystery behind the murder of Shrafat who was killed on July 22. Police arrested the accused Shaik Gouse Pasha and two of his accomplices on Saturday.

Briefing the media about the case, ACP Bhujanga Rao said Shaik Gouse Pasha (26), a resident of Marthandnagar of New Hafeezpet, working as a plumber, fell in love with Rahamat Begum in the same locality. However, Rahamat had a break up with Gouse Pasha recently and had developed a relationship with a glass fitting worker Sharafat who was living in Gopalraonagar. In the process, she got engaged with Sharafat and their marriage was fixed on July 19.

Police said Gouse Pasha murdered Sharafat only for personal grudge as the latter was marrying his lady love.

On Friday, after meeting his would be in-laws at Marthandnagar, Sharafat came out of their place along with his mother. Then already crouching Gouse Pasha accosted Sharafat and spirited him away to a nearby dargah with the help of his friend Nayeem (27). There, Afroz Bin Taher, another friend of Gouse joined them. While his two friends clasped Sharafat tightly, Gouse pounded him to death with a boulder on his head.

Under the supervision of Miyapur CI Ramesh Kotwal, police nabbed the prime accused including his two accomplices within 24 hours after the murder and sent them for remand. Prima facie, police said Gouse Pasha murdered Sharafat only for personal grudge as the latter was marrying his lady love. ACP Bhujanga Rao lauded the efforts of police for unraveling the murder case speedily.
