SBI To Issue New Debit Cards To Ensure Cyber Security 

State Bank of India has urged its customers to replace their old debit cards with new ones - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: After a cyber security threat to financial institutions of late, State Bank of India (SBI) urged its customers to replace their old debit cards with new ones.

Experts expressed doubt on SBI’s card re-issuance stating that probably a malware had gotten access to the HSM card

Head of Hyderabad network of State Bank branches CV Pratap said that, "As there had been suspicious movement in few cards which could be used to withdraw money from third-party ATM the customers are asked to exchange with safer card. The new card comes with embedded with a microchip in the body of the card."

Meanwhile, experts expressed doubt on SBI's card re-issuance stating that probably a malware had gotten access to the hardware security module (HSM) card which receives card information and PIN.
