Queues get longer and longer even a month after demonetization.  - Sakshi Post

New Delhi, Dec 8: The Lok Sabha saw protests again on Thursday over demonetisation as opposition members raised slogans seeking a debate with voting and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's presence in the house.

The opposition members were on their feet as soon as the house met and they trooped near the Speaker's podium shouting slogans.

In the din, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan carried out the Question Hour for around half hour, repeatedly warning the protesting members.

But the ruckus only kept getting louder and the house was adjourned till noon.

Rajya Sabha follows suit

The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till noon on the issue of demonetisation on Thursday, soon after it met for the day.

After the House assembled at 11am, the MPs from the treasury started taunting Leader of Opposition Gulam Nabi Azad, saying the opposition levels allegations against the government and when the government tries to respond, they do not listen.

Chairman Mohmmad Hamid Ansari told them that it was a established practice in the House that either of the Leader of House or the Leader of Opposition is allowed to speak as and when he wants.

"This is an established practiced...let's adhere to it," he said, urging the government MPs to listen to Azad.

The House was adjourned till noon after the Chairman's pleas went unheard.
