Olympian Krishna Poonia Saves Girls From Eve Teasers

Churu (Rajasthan): Olympian Krishna Poonia turned saviour for two teenage girls here, on January 1.

The Commonwealth Games (CWG) medal winner was waiting in her car at a railway crossing when she spotted two girls being harassed by motorcycle-borne youth. On seeing the girls in tears, she got down from the car to speak to them. The girls told her that they were being harassed by some boys who were passing lewd comments at them. However, when the three youth saw that the girls were complaining they decided to flee. Though they were motorcycle-borne, they were no match for Poonia who chased them and managed to pull down one of them off the bike. The other two managed to escape.

A crowd of 300-400 people had gathered at the spot in no time. Police was informed who shifted the youth to police station.
