Suicides of farmers are continuing in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states. Due to crop losses and mounting debt burden, the farmers in both Telugu states are forced to take the extreme step, which is leaving the their families in dire straits.

Suryapet: In Nalgonda district, a farmer has killed self due to mounting debt burden. The incident took place in Gandh nagar in Suryapet mandal. Punyaboina Narayana lost his crop due to water scarcity and could not repay the loan of Rs 2 lakh that he took. Shattered by the crop loss and inability to repay the debt, the farmer committed suicide on Thursday night by consuming pesticide.

Vinukonda: Similar incident has been reported from Guntur district. Nakka Rajashekhar Reddy(26), who belongs to Chatrgaddapadu village of Vinukonda mandal, killed himself due to the mounting debt burden and the continuous crop losses.

Aluru: In Kurnool district, a farmer, shattered by the debts, died of heart attack. Golla Thippanna(45), a resident of Aspari mandal, sowed cotton and groundnut in 5 acres. He also took a loan of Rs.5.50 lakh from private persons. But the hopeless situation of the crops made him desperate. He suffered a heart stroke on Friday and died.
