Telangana Gets New Governor

CP Radhakrishnan will be the new Governor of Telangana. He will take the oath as the Governor of Telugu state tomorrow. Radhakrishnan replaced Tamilisai Soundararajan who resigned from the Raj Bhavan office on March 18, 2024. 

President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday accepted the resignation of Soundararajan and appointed Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan as the new Governor of Telangana. 

President Murmu has given Radhakrishnan additional responsibility to serve as the Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. 

“President Murmu is pleased to appoint CP Radhakrishnan, Governor of Jharkhand, to discharge the functions of the Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry in addition to his own duties until regular arrangements are made,” a communique from Rashtrapati Bhavan stated. 

Meanwhile, Radhakrishnan thanked President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving him additional responsibilities of Telangana and Puducherry. 

“I am humbled and blessed to be given the additional responsibility to serve as the Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry,” he wrote in a post on X.
